Vispring - HOLLEX

Our story begins in 1899 and is written by British engineer James Marshall. When his wife became ill in Canada, James made her a custom support mattress with coil springs wrapped in muslin. It was a revelation in comfort. However, it was not until 1901 that the revolutionary design came to Britain. John Nolon and Frederick James decided to manufacture mattresses commercially and in 1901 founded the Marshall Sanitary Mattress Company.

MADE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE

As the years went by, Vispring bedding experts began experimenting with new mattress fillings. They introduced more natural materials such as horsehair, pure cotton and Shetland wool, as well as luxurious finishes such as silk and cashmere. In 1932, Vispring also created the world’s first pocket sprung divan – known as the ultimate sleep experience.
